FIP and LBA issued a joint statement after their meeting in Via Vitorchiano, focused on assessing facts and behaviors linked to Trapani Shark and its representatives.
They say they have aligned on structured guidelines and broad intervention actions, summarizing their key principles.
The statement stresses that the basketball world cannot accept conduct that jeopardizes the credibility of a healthy movement that brings prestige domestically and internationally.
It lists fair play, competitive balance, loyalty, correctness, and integrity as foundational values and essential conditions for participation in events under FIP and LBA governance.
FIP and LBA condemn actions, decisions, statements, and positions described as destabilizing, unfounded, and contrary to the mission of the two organizations.
They also reaffirm full unity in safeguarding the sport’s image and reputation, stating that any attack on basketball’s dignity will be opposed “in every competent venue” to protect the regularity of Serie A, clubs, registered members, and fans.
