Champions League reportedly fined Virtus Bologna €250k for leaving BCL to join EuroCup

Virtus is negotiating with FIBA to have the sanction removed

FIBA Champions League sanctioned Virtus Bologna 250.000 euro for leaving Basketball Champions League to join EuroCup, as reported by Il Resto del Carlino.
Virtus Bologna won the last edition of BCL but instead of defending the title, the Italian team decided to play for the ECA competitor.
Virtus is negotiating with the league to cancel the fine. Some talks happened in Tenerife during FIBA Intercontinental Cup that Virtus Bologna lost in final against Iberostar.
