FIBA launches digital campaign to unite basketball community

The #FIrstBAsket campaign will be shared across all FIBA's social media channels

FIBA has announced the launch of a digital campaign designed to bring a positive message of hope in these challenging times.

Since mid-March, the global basketball community has been missing live sports action due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In preparation for the return of basketball, FIBA is launching #FIrstBAsket, a digital campaign, with the aim of uniting the global basketball community and providing a positive message for the day basketball returns to action.

#FIrstBAsket will consist of a series of videos, photos and mini-interviews with basketball and 3×3 basketball stars, coaches, fans, officials and other actors of the game, which will build excitement for the return to action and pose the question –what will be your #FIrstBAsket?

FIBA’s social media accounts, which have recently been recognized again in the top-3 spots among international sports federations, will be following the upcoming return of the game and will be sharing the action from practices and games throughout the world to celebrate the return of the game we love.
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis said: “Over the past months the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our daily lives and has caused major disruptions in international sport, including basketball. As the world slowly starts taking steps in restoring various activities, the basketball family is eagerly awaiting the return of our game. In these challenging times, the #FIrstBAsket digital campaign promotes our passion and love of the game, inviting everyone to share their perfect #FIrstBAsket upon return to action.”
The #FIrstBAsket campaign will be shared across all FIBA’s social media channels and we encourage the whole basketball community – national federations, leagues, clubs, players, officials, fans – to contribute to this movement and this message of hope by posting and sharing their #FIrstBAsket moments.
