FIBA announced that a Lithuanian fan has been banned from EuroBasket 2025 after directing racist slurs at Dennis Schroder during Germany’s game against Lithuania in Tampere.
Arena security identified the individual via CCTV footage, and the ban was imposed immediately. “This person has been banned from attending any further games of EuroBasket 2025,” FIBA confirmed.
The federation condemned hate speech “in any form” and stressed its commitment to safety and inclusivity. Local law enforcement has been given the footage to continue investigations.
