Šarūnas Jasikevičius has signed a three-year contract extension with Fenerbahçe, and the Lithuanian coach took the opportunity to discuss what this new deal means to him.

“I’m very happy to be here. This is my job: coming to the office every morning and giving my all. I don’t have an issue with winning or trophies; my problem is something else—excessive competitiveness. I need to learn to be calmer,” Saras stated during the press conference following the 82-79 victory over Valencia Basket.
“The point is, I’m never satisfied, and that is a limitation. I try to stay composed, but I am just as competitive today as I was at the start of my career. I am well aware that this is one of my weaknesses. Of course, it’s also one of my greatest strengths, but it remains a weakness nonetheless. So, I move forward: I show up to work and do my duty, now at Fenerbahçe just as I did before at Barcelona or Žalgiris. Everything we’ve won so far belongs in a museum; now, the only thing that matters is trying to win again. That’s all.”
