Fenerbahce closing in on Dwight Powell on a one-year deal

Fenerbahce is closing in on the signing of Dwight Powell. According to BasketNews, the Turkish club is finalizing a one-year deal with the Canadian center, a 13-year NBA veteran. The 35-year-old had also drawn strong interest from several other EuroLeague teams.

According to Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews, Fenerbahce had been in talks with Powell for some time and negotiations have now reached the final stages. Powell recently became a free agent following the NBA’s final roster cuts in October and is now set for his first EuroLeague experience.

Powell spent more than a decade with the Dallas Mavericks, establishing himself as an energetic big man known for his pick-and-roll play and efficient finishing around the rim. Last season, he averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 14 minutes per game, shooting 64.4% from the field. Across 768 NBA appearances, Powell has averaged 6.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 17.5 minutes. He was also part of Dallas’ run to the 2024 NBA Finals.
