Fenerbahce are getting closer and closer to signing Chimezie Metu, a Nigerian forward who played for Barcelona last season. According to Donatas Urbonas, the two parties have reached an agreement, but the deal cannot be finalised just yet.
It is reported that, in order to finalise the agreement and sign the contract, they must wait for the outcome of a medical evaluation that Metu will undergo, given that he ruptured his Achilles tendon in March. If his recovery goes well, the Turkish club will sign the player, who aims to return to the court in December.
However, Fenerbahce are optimistic about the player’s condition given his excellent athleticism and physical abilities. Metu averaged 11 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during the last EuroLeague season.
