Fenerbahçe Beko condemn EuroLeague Final Four ticketing issues

On the evening of Friday, May 22, ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four semifinal between our men’s basketball team Fenerbahçe Beko and Olympiacos, the problems experienced during the ticketing process — regardless of ticket category — and the approach shown by EuroLeague management throughout this process are completely unacceptable.

From the moment the four Final Four teams were confirmed, the sole priority of Fenerbahçe Sports Club has been to secure the highest possible number of tickets for our fans and to ensure that all supporters could enter the arena safely, smoothly, and without issues.

However, the chain of technical and operational problems that began on the EuroLeague side the night before the game, eventually leading to the collapse of the ticketing system, was not resolved even by tip-off time; postponing the start of the game was reportedly even considered.

Board members Adem Köz and Cem Ciritci, together with all relevant club executives and staff members, worked actively throughout the day to solve the issues and prevent fans from being affected, mobilizing every available resource around the arena, entrance points, and turnstiles.

Shortly before the game started, every possible initiative was also taken to allow supporters whose ticketing procedures had not been completed, or who could not access their tickets, to enter the arena, in an effort to minimize the inconvenience experienced.

Although our club fully provided EuroLeague with all information regarding supporters who had requested and paid for their tickets, the disruptions and problems that emerged throughout the process — caused by the Final Four ticketing operations being managed through different channels and systems — occurred entirely outside the club’s control.

We would like to inform the public that we will pursue this unacceptable matter through both administrative and legal channels on behalf of all affected supporters, and we sincerely apologize to all fans who experienced difficulties despite coming to the arena to support our team.
