Fenerbahce defeated Besiktas to win the first trophy of the 2026-27 season, the Turkish Super Cup.
Fenerbahce prevailed 72-59 at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall, winning the trophy for the second consecutive year and the ninth time overall.
Shavon Shields, who finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, was named MVP of the Game. Braxton Key also impressed with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks, while Wade Baldwin IV added 13 points and 6 assists. Nicolo Melli finished with 7 points and 5 rebounds in 21 minutes.
Besiktas never found a rhythm against Jasikevicius’ defense, shooting just 28% from the field and 5-of-28 from three-point range. Jaylen Nowell was the team’s only player in double figures with 13 points.
Both teams will make their EuroLeague debuts in three days. Fenerbahce will host Virtus Bologna, while Besiktas will face Valencia at BJK Akatlar Arena.
