Former NBA player and assistant coach Damon Jones pleaded not guilty to charges of profiting from rigged poker games and selling insider injury information about LeBron James and Anthony Davis to bettors.
The 49-year-old appeared in federal court in Brooklyn as part of a wider gambling probe that also implicated Chauncey Billups and Terry Rozier.
Prosecutors allege Jones sold tips on Lakers player injuries for cash and took part in poker games rigged by members of New York crime families. Jones, who earned over $20 million during an 11-year NBA career, remains free on a $200,000 bond while his lawyer said plea negotiations may follow.
