At the shareholders meeting, Barcelona outlined its direction and verbally backed a new 10-year EuroLeague license.
The unexpected development came from ASVEL, which indicated it doesn’t want to be excluded from future planning.
Sources say the French club pushed back against the assumption it would opt out, while still exploring its options.
At the same time, ASVEL did not provide any formal or verbal commitment during the meeting.
The January 15 cutoff matters because teams not committing by then could face different terms if they stay later.
For now, BasketNews says 10 of 13 shareholders are in, while Fenerbahce, Real Madrid, and ASVEL remain undecided amid ongoing NBA Europe uncertainty.
