Euroleague Round 10 MVP: Sasha Vezenkov

The Olympiacos forward is among the leading candidates for the MVP award

Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus continued his excellent start to the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season by leading the Reds to an 86-76 win over ALBA Berlin, earning his fourth MVP of the Round honor in the process. Vezenkov had 24 points after going 6-for-6 from two-point range and 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, as well as 2-for-7 from behind the arc. Vezenkov grabbed 6 rebounds, dished 2 assists, recorded 4 steals and drew 6 fouls, which helped him reach a PIR of 34, the best in Round 10.

The second-best PIR, 31, belongs to Nigel Hayes-Davis, who played an integral role in Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul’s 72-82 road victory at EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. Hayes-Davis scored 22 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, had 3 steals, made 1 block and drew 7 fouls. Rodrigue Beaubois of Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Lorenzo Brown of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv each had a performance index rating of 30. Beaubois finished with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists in Efes’s 80-85 road win over Virtus Segafredo Bologna, while Brown’s impressive night helped give his team a chance to beat Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, although Maccabi ended up losing 69-68. Brown ended the game with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 6 fouls drawn. Rounding out the top five is Chris Jones of Valencia Basket after he had 19 points, 7 assists, 5 steals, 5 rebounds and 7 drawn fouls in a 76-80 loss against Zalgiris Kaunas.
