EuroLeague Referee Uros Nikolic Arrested in Serbia: €250,000 Found at His Home

Shocking news from Serbia, where Uros Nikolic, a 39-year-old referee in the EuroLeague, ABA League, and Serbian competitions, has been arrested after police discovered €250,000 in his apartment.

According to state broadcaster RTS, the arrest is tied to an international police operation investigating links to an organized criminal group. Ten people were detained in total, facing charges including murder and public disorder.

Nikolic, an EuroLeague referee since 2019, officiated at the Final Fours in 2021 and 2024 and recently worked the Real Madrid–Olympiacos clash on October 2. He will now appear before Serbia’s Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime.
