EuroLeague moves middle eastern teams’ home games abroad

Decision taken during today’s meeting: Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Dubai Basketball to relocate due to ongoing regional instability.

During a meeting held today, EuroLeague decided that Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Dubai Basketball will no longer be allowed to play their home games in their respective region. Due to the latest war-related developments, the league ruled that no games will be played in the Middle East for the time being.

Maccabi Tel Aviv will host its home games in Belgrade, a venue already used over the past two seasons when games could not be played in Tel Aviv.
Hapoel Tel Aviv will return to Sofia, where the team hosted its home games in the 2025–2026 season until December.
As for Dubai Basketball, nothing has been made official yet, but the club is expected to move its EuroLeague home games to Sarajevo, which is listed as its secondary official venue.

According to SDNA, EuroLeague has taken these measures to protect teams and fans by relocating the three Middle Eastern clubs.
