EuroLeague, Fenerbahce towards the Final Four: the words of coach Jasikevicius

Coach Sarunas Jasikevicius spoke during the press conference presenting the EuroLeague Final Four: These are the words of the Fenerbahce coach.

Fenerbahce coach Sarunas Jasikevicius attended the EuroLeague Final Four press conference. These are his words representing Fenerbahce, which will face Panathinaikos in the semifinals.

Jasikevicius and Ataman on Sloukas: In 2009, Kostas Sloukas was excluded from Olympiacos’ 12-man roster for the Final Four. Sarunas Jasikevicius asked Ergin Ataman to do the same. “Can you leave him out? Coach Ataman replied: “When we beat you in OAKA, Kostas was injured. Jasikevicius concluded, “Then don’t change what works”.

On how he and his team will approach the Final Four: “Coaches definitely have a harder job before the Final Four, there are so many responsibilities. The players have to come and play well, I hope that’s the case. I hope we can have good performances. We have to make shots. The most important thing I say is you have to have opportunities. Here we are again, taking chances”.

On the season: “You can’t just think about the next practice or the next game. These guys have seen all kinds of coaches and systems, we haven’t invested anything and I’ve been very fortunate to have guys that I’ve coached before. In general, we try to take it one day at a time. We try, we try, we try. We put the product on the field and hope things go well”.
