The Euroleague Commercial Assets Board met on Tuesday, June 9, to review progress on its three-year strategic plan and approve key proposals for the future of its competitions.
For the EuroLeague, the Board reaffirmed the transition of current 10-year license holders into a franchise structure starting next season.
The expansion process for new franchises and markets is scheduled to formally begin by July 1, with the planned growth of the competition from the 2027-28 season. Cities including Rome, London and Berlin were mentioned among those attracting interest.
The Board also approved license extensions for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, while talks with Real Madrid remain ongoing.
