A monster double-double in a winning effort allowed Ismael Kamagate of Paris Basketball to earn EuroCup MVP of the Round honors for the first time in his short, promising career.
Kamagate led Paris to an 87-84 home victory against Veolia Towers Hamburg with 12 points, 19 rebounds, 4 blocks, 7 fouls drawn, an assist and a steal for a performance index rating of 41. Kamagate’s was the second-best PIR in the EuroCup this season, following his teammate Kyle Allman’s 42 in a losing Round 4 effort against Gran Canaria. Kamagate’s 19 rebounds are tied for the third-highest toal in competition history and most in a EuroCup game in almost eight years. The last player to get so many rebounds was Ondrej Balvin of Baloncesto Sevilla against CEZ Basketball Nymburk on December 16, 2014.
