The Oklahoma City Thunder are the favorites to win the 2027 NBA championship in ESPN’s NBA Summer Forecast. OKC received 84 points from the panel, narrowly leading Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs with 74.
In the East, ESPN’s insiders selected the defending champion New York Knicks as the leading contender with 68 points. The LeBron James and Jaylen Brown-led Philadelphia 76ers placed second with 51, followed by the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons.
The Knicks, 76ers and Pistons completed the top five in the championship vote behind Oklahoma City and San Antonio. Neither the Lakers nor Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Miami Heat received enough support to enter the final title ranking.
