Ergin Ataman storms out of press conference after heated exchange

Following Game 4 of the Greek League Finals—where Olympiacos defeated Panathinaikos AKTOR 85–71 to win the championship—Ergin Ataman lost his temper during the post-game press conference.

The Panathinaikos coach was visibly upset when asked by a journalist to comment on and compare a gesture made months ago by Kendrick Nunn during a EuroLeague game against Olympiacos, with Evan Fournier’s recent gesture towards Panathinaikos fans in Game 3 at the OAKA.

Clearly offended, Ataman responded in a fiery tone:
“If you accept this kind of unsportsmanlike behavior from the Olympiacos player, go be a journalist in another field. I don’t want to say which one. Vincent Poirier from Efes mentioned it. If you, as a journalist, accept what he did and compare it to Nunn’s gesture, go do journalism elsewhere.”

He then slammed his hand on the table and walked out of the room.
