After a season that saw him win the Defensive Player of the Year award, finish third in the MVP race and lead the San Antonio Spurs to the NBA Finals, Victor Wembanyama enters the new season with enormous expectations.
At just 22 years old, the French star is already considered one of the NBA’s biggest talents. According to Dwyane Wade, however, Wembanyama has all the qualities needed to build an even more impressive résumé, both individually and collectively.
“I want him to win five or six titles”
Speaking on the Wy Network, Dwyane Wade discussed his ambitions for the Spurs superstar.
“I want Wemby to be as great as he can be, because he should be. I want him to win five, six championships, however many, Finals MVPs and regular-season MVPs. I want to be able to say, ‘I saw that,’” said the three-time NBA champion with the Miami Heat and Hall of Famer.
Wade believes Wembanyama has the potential to make NBA history and build one of the most impressive résumés of the league’s recent era.
