Dumont family becomes controlling owner of Mavericks with 69% stake

Sivan and Patrick Dumont have purchased Miriam Adelson’s shares in the Dallas Mavericks, giving the Dumont family a 69% stake and control of the franchise.

Mark Cuban still owns 27%, while Patrick Dumont has the right under the 2023 agreement to purchase another 20% from Cuban at the original $3.5 billion valuation. Dumont reiterated the family’s long-term commitment to Dallas and its ambition to build what he called “the best arena in the NBA,” scheduled to open in 2031.

On the basketball side, the franchise has handed control to Masai Ujiri, who has reshaped the front office and coaching structure.
