A new contender has entered the race for Lonnie Walker IV. According to Tomer Givati, Dubai has shown interest in the American guard, adding another option to an already competitive market situation.
Partizan Belgrade remains one of the leading candidates to sign Walker. The Serbian club has been in talks with the player’s representatives for some time, with his terms also being presented to both Partizan and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid eventually stepped away from the race after deciding not to wait for Walker’s departure from Maccabi Tel Aviv. The two sides have agreed to part ways, and the former NBA player is expected to leave the Israeli club in the coming weeks.
A return to the NBA remains a possibility, but at this stage Walker is more likely to continue his career in Europe. With Dubai now involved, the race for the 1998-born guard has become even more open.
