Dubai Basketball appoints Aleksander Sekulić as new head coach

Dubai Basketball has officially named Aleksander Sekulić as the new head coach of the first team until the end of the season. The 48-year-old Slovenian coach will make his debut on the bench against Valencia Basket in the final round of the EuroLeague regular season.

Sekulić has been the head coach of the Slovenian national team since 2020 and led the country to a fourth-place finish at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. He now begins a new chapter at club level, taking over at a crucial moment of the season.

In Dubai, he will also reunite with team captain Klemen Prepelić, a player he already knows well from the national team setup. As an assistant coach, Sekulić was also part of the Slovenia staff that won the gold medal at EuroBasket 2017.
