The Oklahoma City Thunder continues to look like a well-oiled machine, but their latest victory over the New Orleans Pelicans ended with some unexpected “extra-curricular” activities. Behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 29 points and Chet Holmgren’s 20, OKC cruised to a 104-95 victory, though the real drama unfolded as time expired.
With less than five seconds remaining, Pelicans guard Jeremiah Fears grabbed a rebound and attempted a final, meaningless shot. Thunder enforcer Lu Dort contested the play and shoved Fears as the buzzer sounded, sparking a heated confrontation.
Both benches emptied quickly as players and staff rushed to separate the two sides. Fortunately, coaches and officials managed to de-escalate the situation before things turned even uglier.
