Domantas Sabonis drops 4th triple-double of the season in Kings win over Suns

Kings coach Mike Brown: It’s almost impossible to be a center and get a triple-double. There’s only a couple guys out there.

Last night Domantas Sabonis helped the Kings score a convincing win over the Phoenix Suns with the 4th triple-double of his  excellent season.

The Lithuanian center scored 28 points (12/15 FG, 4/5 FT) with 11 rebounds and 11 assists:

“When great players do stuff like this consistently, I think it’s natural for people to think, ‘OK, great game,’ but not get excited about it just because that’s what he does,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “So, to be able to recognize it, to highlight it when he does it from time to time is big, and it’s up to all of us to highlight it because it’s hard. It’s almost impossible to be a center and get a triple-double. There’s only a couple guys out there. Domas is one of them and (Nikola) Jokic might be the other one.”

It’s hard to disagree with the Kings coach, as Sabonis and Jokic are in the league’s Top 10 in both rebounds and assists.

In December, the Gonzaga product is averaging over 19 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists per game.
