Does ASVEL want to transfer its EuroLeague license to Monaco?

ASVEL could transfer its multi-year EuroLeague license to Monaco, according to Greek journalist Shot Vetakis.

The procedure is provided for in the EuroLeague regulations, subject to the approval of the other shareholders. ASVEL is currently under scrutiny by the EuroLeague for a number of regulatory violations and is considering moving to the BCL while awaiting NBA Europe. Monaco, on the other hand, is only in the EuroLeague thanks to its consistent participation in the playoffs following its EuroCup victory in 2021.

Tony Parker, ASVEL’s number one, is considering a coaching position in the NBA for himself, and has already had business dealings with Monaco’s number one Alexey Fedorichev in the past, including the ill-fated Skweek broadcast venture.
