Dirk Nowitzki could eventually become more involved with the Dallas Mavericks. In an interview with DLLS Sports, the German revealed that he has already discussed his future with new team president Masai Ujiri.
Nowitzki had distanced himself from the franchise because he disagreed with several decisions, but Ujiri’s arrival reopened the dialogue. The two have known each other for years, and Ujiri wants the Hall of Famer to remain connected to the organization.
A full-time position is not imminent because of Nowitzki’s commitments as an Amazon analyst and FIBA board member. However, the former forward called himself a “Maverick for life” and left the door open to having greater input within the franchise in the future.
