Dillon Brooks was ejected in the third quarter of the Phoenix Suns’ loss to Denver after making contact with Jamal Murray. Brooks attempted a turnaround jumper and extended his right leg while falling backward, catching Murray in the groin. After review, officials upgraded the offensive foul to a flagrant 2, resulting in an automatic ejection.
Murray, who finished with 39 points, defended Brooks afterward: “I don’t think it was intentional. He was shooting the ball. He might have flopped a little bit, but I don’t think he was trying to kick me.”
Brooks had 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting at the time of his ejection.
