Isaiah Stewart will be out indefinitely for the Detroit Pistons due to a left calf strain, coach JB Bickerstaff said, adding the team’s focus is getting him fully healthy.
“It’s something he’s been dealing with. It just had been getting worse. He gutted it out last game and I think you could see he was favoring it late,” Bickerstaff said. “It’s something we’re going to take time with.”
Entering play on Sunday, Detroit holds a 4.5-game lead over the Boston Celtics atop the Eastern Conference, giving the Pistons room to be cautious so the issue doesn’t linger into the postseason.
