Desmond Bane to sign five-year, $207M contract extension with Grizzlies

Bane will remain in Memphis

Desmond Bane, a guard with the Memphis Grizzlies, and his representatives Jim Tanner, Max Wiepking, and Terrence Felder of Tandem Sports + Entertainment have agreed to a five-year, $207 million maximum contract extension, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Bane are now Memphis’ cornerstone players, and their contracts are long-term. The first contract in Grizzlies history is Bane’s $200 million contract.

Bane, 25, was taken with the 30th overall choice in the 2020 NBA Draft and has since grown into one of the league’s top young shooting guards. For the 51-win Grizzlies past season, he posted career highs in points (21.5), rebounds (5.0), assists (4.4), and field goal percentage (48%)
