David Lighty and ASVEL will continue their journey together into the 2026-27 season. After his departure appeared likely following the club’s budget reduction, the French side officially announced the veteran’s stay.
The 38-year-old American is an ASVEL legend, having spent eleven seasons with the Villeurbanne club and won several trophies during his career. ASVEL confirmed the news through a video in which Lighty looks back on his time with the club and stresses that there are still trophies to chase.
However, his exact role remains unclear, as ASVEL has not confirmed whether he will continue playing or take on a new position within the organization.
