The Bayern Basketball team has become active on the transfer market: David Kramer, former BBL pro in Ulm and most recently under contract in the NBA G-League, has signed with the Munich team until the end of the season. The 24-year-old German-Austrian, who had a stint in the the German national team just over two years ago, is already in Munich and has completed the obligatory tests. The guard will wear jersey number 3.

“I’m very happy to get this opportunity with Bayern. I’m looking forward to the BBL and it has always been my dream to be able to prove myself in the EuroLeague. America was a great experience for me, despite the injury right at the beginning and the Corona crash last year. I think I progressed there as a person and as a basketball player.”

Born in Slovakia, Kramer has German citizenship (his father is German-Slovakian) but initially grew up in Austria, where he also played for the national U16 team. In Ulm, his initial focus was on the ProB team (Weißenhorn, now OrangeAcademy), which he helped lead to the championship in 2016/2017 as “youngster of the season.” In the following year, he scored just under 17 points per game in the ProA and, in parallel, finally gained a foothold in the BBL squad.

For the German teams, he played in the 2015 European U18 Championship and the 2017 European U20 Championship (12.3 ppg, 7th place). In the senior national team, he made his only appearance so far against Estonia in December 2018.
