Darryn Peterson, the second overall pick in the last NBA Draft, made an immediate impact in his debut for the Utah Jazz, scoring 28 points (11/21 FG) along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in a narrow win over the Atlanta Hawks in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
“I’ve been training super hard and manifesting this game since my Kansas season ended. To get out there and finally put a jersey on and play again is great. Then, on top of that, I’ve got ‘Jazz’ across my chest. It’s a huge honor and privilege,” Peterson said after the final buzzer.
Also in action was Kingston Flemings, selected by the Atlanta Hawks at No. 8. He finished with 14 points on 4/16 shooting, but added 9 assists and 4 steals in an all-around performance.
