Darius Thompson is close to signing with Valencia Basket after a buyout with Anadolu Efes, staying in the EuroLeague

Darius Thompson is finalizing a deal with Valencia Basket after agreeing to a buyout with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. The point guard, under contract through 2025-26, chose Valencia despite interest from other EuroLeague teams.

Thompson averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 11.7 PIR across 39 EuroLeague games last season, with a standout 19-point, 6-assist game against Bayern Munich. He played a key role during Shane Larkin’s absence earlier in the season.

After his breakout year with Baskonia, Thompson confirmed his ability as a top playmaker in the EuroLeague with Efes. Now, he is set to continue his career with Valencia, aiming for another strong season.
