Darius Garland is ready to take on a bigger role with the new-look Los Angeles Clippers following Kawhi Leonard’s departure.
The point guard wants to return to All-Star level and become one of the franchise’s main leaders.
“It’s definitely something that I want,” Garland told Marc J. Spears when asked about becoming the face of the Clippers. “I think I’ve been through a lot in this career and I think I’m ready to take on the reins of that, especially year eight.”
Garland added: “I’m trying to get that spark back, trying to get back to the All-Star level that I’m used to being at.” On his role in Los Angeles, he said: “They wanted me to come and be a leader and be a spark. We can play faster, move the ball and push the pace.”
