In an interview with local media in Bologna, Daniel Hackett spoke about his connection to Virtus Bologna: “Pride. In representing this club with such a rich history, after spending nearly five years here. And joy. In leading this group that’s still getting to know each other, ready to set an example both with words and actions. Right from the start, time is tight and forces us to move quickly.”
Virtus’s style of play will be different: “We’ve already seen that in the first few practices, even though Mumbrù isn’t here yet. We’re running a lot, and it’s already clear that we’ll have a different system than in the past. We’re counting on fresh legs. We’ll have to bring quality to the table.”
Hackett doesn’t yet know how long he’ll continue playing: “I’ve never looked that far ahead. I don’t build castles in the air—I’ll play today, and tomorrow too, but I can’t look beyond that, because I’ll simply play as long as I feel I have what it takes to do so, without setting specific goals.”
