During a long and interesting interview with The Athletic, Minnesota Timberwolves star D’Angelo Russell talks about his two-years stint with the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Ohio State guard said that Kenny Atkinson does not deserve all the credit for his growth.
“I’m not going to give it to Kenny,” he said. “I still don’t think he knew what he had, honestly. I don’t think he knew what I was capable of in the fourth quarter.”
Russell averaged 21.1 points and 6.9 assist during his second year with the Nets, numbers that earned him the first call for the All Star Game.
