In a report tied to Patrick Ngongba’s return to Duke Blue Devils, Jeff Borzello of ESPN also provided an update on Dame Sarr.
According to Borzello, there is optimism within Duke that the Italian wing will return for the 2026/27 season. Sarr himself has fueled fan excitement with recent activity on social media.
Jon Scheyer and his staff are reportedly already counting on his return, alongside other key rotation pieces and a strong incoming group featuring talented freshmen — including NBA prospect Cameron Williams — and transfers.
Sarr could take on a more prominent offensive role next season for the Blue Devils, after spending his freshman year primarily focused on defense, often guarding the opponent’s top scorer.
From an NBA perspective, improving his ball handling and shooting will be crucial, after posting 32% from three-point range and 53% from the free-throw line this past season.
