The Dallas Mavericks have waived Dwight Powell, likely ending his 12-season run with the franchise. The Canadian big man was Dallas’ longest-tenured player.
Powell appeared in 763 games for the Mavericks, ranking fifth in franchise history in games played. He averaged 3.3 points and 4.1 rebounds last season.
“Dwight was the consummate professional throughout his 12 seasons with the Mavericks,” president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri said, also praising his impact on the Dallas community.
