Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg missed his first NBA game Wednesday due to illness, as the Mavs fell 113-111 to the New York Knicks, coach Jason Kidd said.
The No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft had been added to the injury report earlier in the day along with Caleb Martin and skipped the morning shootaround. Despite recent issues with a sore left shoulder and sprained right thumb, Flagg had started every game this season.
The 18-year-old forward is averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. Dallas dropped to 4-11 with the loss.
