The Dallas Mavericks have decided to fire GM Nico Harrison. The decision, which had been in the air for days, was made by owner Patrick Dumont.
From 2021 to the 2024 Finals, the Mavs’ image is inevitably linked to the trade with the Los Angeles Lakers for Luka Doncic. It’s a decision that Texas fans have never forgiven the executives for.
Dumont initially supported Harrison immediately after the Doncic trade, but the situation deteriorated with a disastrous start to the season, with a 3-8 record.
Harrison joined the Mavericks after a long stint at Nike, during which he forged relationships with Kobe Bryant, Kyrie Irving, and other league stars.
