The Dallas Mavericks will be without Anthony Davis for a short stretch.
Sources told ESPN that Davis sustained a minor groin strain and will be evaluated daily.
He is listed as questionable for Saturday’s road game against Sacramento due to right adductor soreness.
The injury occurred in the second quarter of Dallas’ Christmas Day loss to Golden State, when Davis pulled up in transition and limped off.
He was ruled out at halftime with right groin spasms.
Since arriving in Dallas as part of the Luka Dončić trade, Davis has dealt with multiple muscle-related injuries.
The Mavericks are 8-8 with Davis in the lineup this season and 4-12 without him.
That split explains the team’s conservative injury management.
