Nikita Kurbanov tested positive in a doping control. This was announced by the Russian anti-doping agency, which mentioned traces of cocaine in his blood.
Born in 1986, Russian basketball icon and 3 EuroLeagues and 19 other titles with Cska, Kurbanov suspended himself for personal reasons.
On 10 January, the commission for the preliminary review of anti-doping rule violations was held, based on the results of which Kurbanov was suspended for three months.
At the same time, the days already served are also included in this period, i.e. the 3 months are counted from 20 October 2023.
The end date of the suspension is tomorrow, 19 January 2024. CSKA did not suspend Nikita from the United League, so in theory he will be able to play as early as 21 January at home against Uralmash.
