Lithuanian guard is a hot name on the Euroleague market
CSKA Moscow is reportedly trying to “steal” Rokas Jokubaitis from a future with FC Barcelona, according to a report from José Ignacio Huguet from Mundo Deportivo.
Russian powerhouse is reportedly offering to pay the full amount of Jokubaitis’ buyout (about $350,000) in order to secure his signing while Barcelona has offered to pay just a part of the clause due to liquidity problems, committing to give Zalgiris part of NBA compensation once the players will go to play abroad.
The American guard, born in 2000, joins the Serbian club after playing for the Iowa Wolves in the NBA G League. His college career included stints at Kentucky and Illinois State.
Barcelona will be without Darío Brizuela for Thursday’s road game against Olimpia Milano in Round 7 of the EuroLeague.
