Crvena Zvezda player Yago Dos Santos did not return to Belgrade with the rest of the team after the game against Maccabi due to a serious injury. During the game, which was played in the 29th round of the Euroleague, Dos Santos was elbowed in the head by Bonzie Colson, which forced him to be hospitalised, the club confirmed.
In an official statement, the club said that Dos Santos suffered a significant fracture of the anterior wall of the frontal sinus and a mild concussion.
The player was kept under observation overnight at KBC Zemun for further diagnosis and urgent tests. The injury appears to require surgery, which is currently being assessed.
