Crvena Zvezda have opened initial talks with Chris Jones, the point guard of Hapoel Tel Aviv, ahead of the 2026/27 season. The report comes from Israel Hayom, which says the Serbian club has genuine interest in the American guard, whose contract in Israel expires at the end of the current campaign.
According to the same report, there are currently no ongoing extension talks between Jones and Hapoel Tel Aviv, even though the club has been working in recent months to renew several contracts across the roster. That leaves the possibility of a summer departure very much alive unless something changes dramatically late in the season.
Jones, 32, is averaging 9.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the EuroLeague this season for Hapoel Tel Aviv. Over the course of his European career, he has also played for Maccabi Tel Aviv, ASVEL and Valencia Basket, establishing himself as a proven backcourt option at EuroLeague level.
