After a long and difficult layoff, Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) is finally welcoming back one of its most talented players. The Belgrade-based club has officially announced the return of Tyson Carter, who is ready to step back onto the hardwood after a full five-month absence.

The American guard’s “second” season debut will take place in the upcoming ABA League matchup against Romania’s U-BT Cluj Napoca, marking the end of a period of great concern for both the player and the Serbian fans.

Carter’s return is more than just sports news; it is the happy ending to a rather delicate medical saga. The player was forced to the sidelines by a pulmonary embolism that required immediate hospitalization in Belgrade due to respiratory complications.

Before his forced hiatus, Carter had shown flashes of elite-level basketball. In just three EuroLeague appearances this season, he was putting up impressive numbers, averaging 14.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game in Europe’s premier competition.
