Countries for Olympics to be chosen through FIBA Basketball World Cup Final Standings?

OQTs still on but with all the leagues suspended, they may be cancelled

FIBA is not considering moving or canceling the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, at least yet.
But other scenarios are being considered due to the coronavirus outbreak worldwide and considering all the leagues worldwide have been suspended (except Turkey and Japan that re-started after a break).

IOC had a meeting in Lausanne with International Federations and, as reported by Tuttosport and confirmed to Sportando, one idea is to choose the final countries for Olympics, if Olympic Games will be really played, through FIBA Basketball World Cup Final Standings more than FIBA Ranking.

No decision has been made yet and Basketball Federation have not been informed but if the 12 countries will be chosen through FIBA Basketball World Cup Final Standings the teams would be:

– Iran
– Nigeria
– Usa
– Argentina
– Japan
– Spain
– France
– Australia
– Serbia
– Czech Republic
– Poland
– Lithuania

If they decide to choose the countries through FIBA Ranking, Greece would play instead of Poland.

FIBA has postponed the draw for Olympic Tournament scheduled for March 20.
