Cooper Flagg saw his rookie season come to an early end after suffering a sprained left ankle in the Dallas Mavericks’ 149-128 win over the Chicago Bulls in the regular-season finale.
Flagg was injured early in the second quarter when he landed awkwardly after trying to tip in his own miss between two Bulls defenders. He limped up the floor before Dallas intentionally fouled to stop play and allow him to leave the game, and he was officially ruled out shortly after.
The No. 1 overall pick finishes his first NBA season averaging 21.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 70 games. Flagg led Dallas in total points, rebounds, assists and steals, capping off an impressive year that keeps him firmly in the Rookie of the Year conversation.
