Flagg, starting at point guard, shot 4-for-13 and had three turnovers, while Victor Wembanyama stole the show with 40 points and 15 rebounds. “He looked more poised than I expected,” said Stephon Castle, who added 22 points.
Coach Jason Kidd praised his rookie’s effort: “He played well and will learn from this.” Despite a game-worst -29 plus/minus, Flagg stayed upbeat: “It hurts, but we’ll move forward and be ready for the next one.”
